Little guy is taking a nap so I thought I would take this time to give you an update!
I’ve come to realize that there are too many books in the world and not enough time. Even if I were to read one book a day for the rest of my life, I would not even make a dent!
That being said, I recently read a really fun YA book called “Boys Don’t Knit”. I can’t remember how I stumbled upon it on Amazon but since it was an actual novel about knitting, well let’s just say my interest was piqued!
Boys Don’t Knit, set in England, is about a 17 year old nerdy kid named Ben who has a group of friends that always get him into trouble. This time he ended up getting caught and put on probation and one of his requirements is to attend a weekly class at the community college. He could choose between car mechanics (taught by his dad), Introduction to Windows (he scoffed at that one), Pottery (taught by his crush’s mom) or knitting (taught by the “hot” teacher at school). He ends up choosing knitting but a schedule error causes him to be in the knitting class with his crush’s mom, and not the “hot” teacher! Ben, being the nerd that he is, realizes that knitting is a lot like math and soon masters it. Once people find out he knits (and likes it!) he swears them to their graves to not tell anyone. Later on, Ben is such a wiz at knitting that he ends up going to an All-UK Knitting Championship. I’ll stop here with the synopsis because it’s really worth checking out – very funny and quite light hearted.
Other knitting related news:
I’m knitting a sweater for my little guy and I finished the back yesterday! Woo! I’m now working on the front left side (it’ll be a button up).
The knitting instructor and I were browsing through some knitting books yesterday – I saw this pattern and just fell in love! It’ll be my next project once I finish the baby sweater.
And now – a journal prompt!
“Who made you feel good this week?”
Gosh it’s tough to decide but I would have to say my husband. He’s been really great with giving me a break and letting me have some much needed “me” time!
